Balsam fir
(abies balsamea)
Balsam Fir is a slow growing coniferous tree with dark green
flat needles on top and silvery-white needles beneath which
are resinous and fragrant. It can reach heights of 40-60'
with spreading branches forming a handsome symmetical slender
pyramid. It is mostly shade tolerant, and will grow in a variety
of soils but prefers moist soils.
