The Anoka Conservation District is currently taking tree sale pre-orders for the end of April tree sale. The PICK up dates are Friday April 24 (3pm-6pm) and Saturday April 25 (8am -12pm) at the ACD Office Lower Lot. The District is also having an open sale on Saturday from 8am - 12pm. The District offers a wide variety of native stock, including black cherry trees, mixed oak trees, red maple trees, and white pine trees. The trees and shrubs are sold in bare root seedlings or transplants and most range from 12" to 24" in height. They may be purchased in bundles of ten for $18.50, or twenty-five for $33.00 not including tax. Native prairie seed and tree aides are also available. You do not need to be an Anoka County Resident to order.
Storing your seedlings until they can be planted:
- Store trees and shrubs in a cool, dark location (garage or shed)
- Your trees and shrubs should be fine stored for up to 3 weeks
- Keep roots moist but don't fill bag with water or put roots in a bucket of water
- Roots have been dipped in root gel and bagged to keep them moist
