Viburnum lentago
Nannyberry is a large tree-like shrub with attractive shiny foliage. It has a brilliant red fall color and fruit display. It will tolerate partial shade but is intolerant of drought. It is a very adaptable shrub. Wildlife Food & Cover: Good food-buds, twigs Good cover-nesting, escape, perching Flowers: Creamy white flower in clusters in early May Fruit: Edible 1/2" long drupe reddish to blue/black when mature Ecosystem: Lowland Hardwood, Hardwood Swamp Other: Berries persist into winter on red stems, nice fall color
