Hackberry has a rapid growth rate reaching heights of 75' tall. Hackberry prefers moist, rich soils but is highly adaptable to many adverse conditions. It is a large shade tree with unusual warty/corky bark and yellow fall color.

Wildlife Food & Cover:Fair Food-berries, twigs and buds. Good cover-nesting and perching.

Fruit: Fleshy purple-brown berry with hard center late autumn
