Red oak is a fast growing large tree with brown to dark red color in the fall. A mature tree can reach heights of 60-75 feet. Red Oak is moderately shade tolerant, grows in a variety of soils and is moderately drought resistant.
Wildlife Food & Cover: Excellent food-acorn, insects, browse, buds. Excellent cover-nesting, perching, escape, dens, cavities.
Flowers: Inconspicuous
