Red Oak is a fast growing and Bur Oak is slow growing tree, both large with brown to dark red color in the fall. Mature trees can reach heights of 60-80 feet. Red Oak is moderately shade tolerant and Bur Oak intolerant of shade, both will grow in a variety of soils and are moderately drought resistant.
