ACD monitors water quality on many of the major lakes throughout Anoka County. This program helps identify and diagnose water quality concerns that may affect recreational use, public health, or aquatic and wildlife habitat. The data collected also supports regulatory actions, guides lake management decisions, and helps secure funding for water quality improvement projects.
Monitoring efforts are focused on lakes with high recreational value and those with significant lakeshore development. Long-term data collection allows ACD and its partners to track trends, evaluate management practices, and prioritize conservation efforts.
After exploring the information available on our website, you can find additional lake water quality data on the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) website.
